An investigation of Daegu Subway Fire Protection System

Abstract

|
This investigation was performed to show ways for the improvement and maintenance of Daegu subway fire protection system. The problems of the systems pointed out were as follows : It was not easy to find the location of standpipes and extinguishers ; emergency lights were on the ceilings where the smoke obscured ; the station had a weak ventilation system and didn’t adopt an automatic sprinkler system at platform. Improvement and maintenance methods are contained in the main contexts with figure. Besides the conclusions drawn, the best way to prevent loss by fire in a subway is to change seats, floors, posters and wall insulation of subway train with high qualify materials, which are hard to combustion.
